Nils Vigeland is a composer and pianist living in New York City. For eight years he was the director of the Bowery Ensemble, a new music group which gave the first performances of more than thirty works by composers such as John Cage, Pauline Oliveros, Dance Rudhyar and Christian Wolff. His orchestral work, My Father's Song, was premiered by the Brooklyn Philharmonic this past January. He teaches theory and composition at the Manhattan School of Music.
