WILLIAM WINANT has been described by music critic Mark Swed (New York Times, Wall Street Journal) as "one of the best avant-garde percussionists working today." He has made first recordings of the music of Chris Brown, John Cage, Morton Feldman, Lou Harrison, Jon Hassell, Alvin Lucier and Wendy Reid. He is currently on the music faculty at Mills College and a visiting lecturer at the University of California at Santa Cruz and Berkeley.
